But it doesn’t go away permanently because you can find them in your archives.

Here, people choose to reupload their stories as highlights from the archives. You will have full control in creating Story Highlights. It will be a collection of all your past memories. You can choose to upload your highlights in different groups. Once you have arranged all of them according to your preference, your highlights will show up in a horizontal bar right below your bio. With highlights, you can group them into different types.

Creating Instagram Highlights

If you still haven’t created one for yourself, then it’s about time that you hopped in on the bandwagon. You can choose to make one from your present story (if you have one right now) or use it from your archives. However, you should have your archive feature on. Here’s how:

• Go to your profile first and look for the menu.
• Click on the menu, which will be available at the right corner on top of your screen.
• Head towards your settings and tap on the “Privacy” option.
• From there, you need to click on the “Story” button.
• Start scrolling down for saving your story to the Archive.
• Proceed to toggle it on.

Now that you have turned on the archiving feature, you can get started with your highlight creation process. Here’s how:

With Current Story

• Launch the story feature of your Instagram.
• Click on the highlight option present towards the Servicetom of your screen.
• Now, you need to press on “New” from the pop-up of “Add to Highlights.”
• Proceed in entering your name for the highlight. Here, you can also edit the highlight’s cover if you are interested.
• Lastly, click on “Add” and finally on “Done.”

With Archived Story

• Launch your IG by entering your necessary details.
• Go to your profile and click on “New.”
• Now, you need to go through all of your past stories and pick the one that you want to upload.
• Proceed to click on “Next.”
• Begin naming your new highlight and proceed to adjust the cover.
• Lastly, click on “Add” and follow it up with “Done.”

How Many Highlights Can I Have?

When it comes to creating highlights, there are no limitations for any user. It is a great move on Instagram’s part since we can’t get enough of highlights. But it is believed that when you exceed over 100 highlights, the first or oldest one will disappear. Here, by disappearing, it doesn’t mean that your highlight is deleted from your page. It will always be there, and you can get it back when you have fewer amounts displayed on your profile.

Also, you can add about 100 pictures or videos in one story highlight. You can’t go above that in a single highlight. If you want to upload more, then you just have to create a second story highlight. But let’s be realistic here, nobody is going to have 100 or more story highlights on their personal page. Even major companies and content creators don’t go up to that extent. By most, people have over 20-30 highlights in one profile, and that is also a lot.

Adding New Stories To Your Highlight

Did you recently go out to eat at a fancy restaurant for some delicious food? Well, if you already have a story highlight dedicated to food, then you can choose to add it there once your story expires after 24 hours. Make sure to follow these steps:

• Proceed to open your Instagram by inserting your details.
• Navigate to that specific food highlight that you have created before.
• Click on the “More” option present at the right corner towards the Servicetom of your screen.
• Choose the option of “Edit Highlight” on the menu.
• Now, you need to tap on “Stories.”
• Start check-marking the desired stories by tapping on them. It will go to your chosen food highlight.
• Once you are ready to go, tap on the “Done” option.
