The YouTuber and now entrepreneur “Sami Slimani” should probably be a household name to just about everyone in Germany by now. While it had been known for some time that he had two sisters, they had not been publicly represented on the same scale as himself for a long time. However, that changed when his sister Dounia started her channel “Douniaslimani” on YouTube and gained some notoriety.
The civil name of Sami Slimani’s eldest sister is Dounia Slimani, as is her channel name. Her exact date of birth is not known, but it is known that she is already 35 years old and therefore must have been born around 1985. Together with her family and siblings, Dounia grew up in the Baden-Württemberg city of Stuttgart.
After her brother with his channel “Sami Slimani” could already achieve some notoriety, Dounia also decided to create her own channel. So she founded the channel “Douniaslimani” on June 16, 2011. Because of her brother’s notoriety, and therefore some of hers, she managed to reach well over 2,500 subscribers on the channel even before her first video. Between her channel creation and her first video, there was exactly one day in which she was able to reach the 2,500 subscribers mark. Then on June 18, 2011, she released her first video on her own channel which was titled: “My very first time on YouTube – Welcome Video!”. This video represented a simple and conventional video of her persona and channel. Furthermore, this video gave a preview of what viewers of the channel “Douniaslimani” can expect on their channel. As her channel progressed, she mainly published beauty and lifestyle videos on her channel, similar to her brother “Sami Slimani”. Quite a few videos on her channel can also be classified into the entertainment video genre.
After a short time, Dounia managed to reach a considerable number of viewers and subscribers with her channel “Douniaslimani”.
Besides her main channel, which she runs more irregularly nowadays, Dounia also created her second channel “donislife” on November 16, 2014, on which she mainly publishes vlogs on her life. On this secondary channel, Dounia has now reached well over 260,000 subscribers and even operates it more actively than her actual main channel.
On their main channel “Dounislimani” rather less new content and or videos appear lately. Despite this, she has managed to attract well over 577,000 subscribers on this channel over the past few years.
