The words: “Hi, Hi, Hi and welcome, welcome hi” should be known by almost every young person in Germany by now. They come from the German-speaking YouTuber and Influencer called “Emrah2. Over the years he managed to become a real YouTube great and to establish himself in the German YouTube scene. But who is behind the art figure erected in social media and what evolution did he have to go through with his channel ?

The YouTube star’s real name is Emrah Tekin. He was born on 06 September 1989 and is therefore already 29 years old. As you can easily see from his name, Emrah has Turkish roots and is therefore also of Turkish descent. However, he did not grow up in Turkey, but spent most of his youth in the German city of Hanover. There he also graduated from high school and began to study engineering.

Around the same time, his YouTube career began. On 04 May 2011, he founded his channel with the name “Emrah”. However, as on date, he did not use this channel till 09 January 2012. It wasn’t until that day that he uploaded his first video, as of today. This one was titled: “FOLD T-shirt in just 2 seconds ! how to fold tshirt under 2 seconds “Emrah !” Tricks” and fit exactly into the genre which Emrah still serves today. Lifehacks with a touch of comedy. The majority of his videos, until today, are made according to exactly this motto and show mostly so-called lifehacks. In these videos Emrah shows mostly tips and tricks that often make everyday situations easier or even a little funnier. However, besides these lifehack videos, he also makes quite a few other videos with different content. Among them are videos in which he does things with older people that young people of today do on a daily basis or what is trendy nowadays. He also often makes videos which are titled: “How does …. taste?”. In these he tries unusual things or even unusual food. After Emrah’s channel became more and more popular, he dropped out of his studies to concentrate on his YouTube career.

The young man’s most successful video to date is titled: “10 Cool PIZZA Lifehacks” and was released on August 14, 2015. As of today, this video has been able to garner well over 8.5 million views. At the beginning of 2016, Emrah once again caused a great deal of attention. The number of his subscribers had increased from about 33,000 to more than 1,000,000 subscribers within a year. With this enormous and rapid increase, YouTuber Emrah was able to celebrate the largest subscriber growth in Germany in 2015.

If you take a look at the channel “Emrah” today, you will see that he has now collected over 2.3 million subscribers and that he is still actively publishing videos on this channel. He regularly fills this channel with new, varied and entertaining content. At the same time he never forgets in which genre he moves and which target group he serves.

After his main channel enjoyed such great success in 2015, he decided to open another channel in 2018. On May 12, 2018, he opened the Emrah Tekin channel. As the name suggests, this is not a German-language channel, but a Turkish-language one. He stays true to his motto on this channel as well and publishes lifehacks in Turkish there. However, it should be noted that he has not yet been able to match the success of his German-language channel. After today’s state, he could work out there so far only about 130,000 subscribers. However, it is to be noted that the concept of the young man is very well received by the viewers and still leaves much to be expected.
