Freshtorge

At the latest after his character “Sandra”, which he embodies in his YouTube videos, the name “Freshtorge” is known to almost everyone.

His real name is Torge Oelrich and he was born on September 11, 1988 and is therefore already 30 years old. Besides his very strong activity on the web video platform YouTube, Torge also acts as an actor and comedian. The 30 year old was born in Wesselburen, which is in Schleswig-Holstein, but now lives in Heide. However, Serviceh small towns are located in Schleswig-Holstein and are only 15 kilometres away from each other. Thus one can say that Torge, despite his move to his homeland has remained quite faithful.

Already in 2006 his YouTube career started, but the videos of the first three years are rather insignificant for his current career. Due to his early experiences on YouTube he clearly belongs to the veterans of the German YouTube scene and has a lot of experience to show. He then founded his current main channel “Freshtorge” on September 24, 2009 after he successfully began training as an educator in 2008, which he also successfully completed. After completing this training, he worked at an elementary school in his hometown from 2011 to 2015. So it becomes clear that in the early years of his career, he was only able to complete his web video projects alongside his main job.

Since founding the channel in 2009, Torge has focused his attention on acting in conjunction with successful comedy. His first videos already show this. Already at that time he shot videos in various roles, some of which still exist today. However, the most famous of all roles is and remains his role called “Sandra”. This is one of his most famous roles which also exists since the first of his videos.

Today, Torge is still faithful to the various characters. Nowadays videos appear in the roles of “Susi”, “Hardstyle Henning”, “Trisha”, “Lexa”, “Karina”, “Sandra” and some more. Besides his very famous character “Sandra”, his parody of the TV show Frauentausch in which he impersonated the character “Psycho Andreas” helped him to an enormous increase in popularity. He also still enjoys embodying this character today.

In 2012, “Freshtorge” was also one of the top ten German-language YouTubers, which once again underscores his enormous name recognition.

Today, “Freshtorge” boasts over three million subscribers on his channel and a total view count of over one billion. He provides his fans with two new videos every week, which appear every Wednesday and Saturday at 2 pm on the channel of the 30-year-old. Among them are several videos which fit into the acting and comedy repertoire and in which he embodies his current characters. However, today you can also find many videos from the real life of the 30 year old.

He showcased his acting skills in his own feature film in 2015, among others. This appeared on July 23, 2015 and was titled: “Potato Salad – Don’t Ask !”. In this film, people like Otto Waalkes but also several of his YouTube colleagues like “Dagi Bee” or “Simon Desue” participated. Although the film reached a relatively high number of viewers, it also earned heavy criticism. However, for all involved this film was a complete success as it only helped to increase the publicity.

Furthermore, “Freshtorge” received the Golden Camera Digital Award in the Comedy category in 2017.
