There are many lifestyle and entertainment channels on YouTube. So if you decide to start a channel in this genre you have to be sure that you stand out from the crowd and don’t get lost in the crowd. The “Pocket Hazel” channel has been doing this very well for a number of years. Yet few viewers know more about the person behind the kanl or how it got its start.

Generally speaking, the channel “Pocket Hazel” is a German-language lifestyle and entertainment channel. The protagonist and operator of the channel “Pocket Hazel” is Hazel. However, the civil surname of her is not publicly known so far. Hazel was born in Vietnam on April 11, 1994, making her just 26 years old. It should also be mentioned that Hazel is of Vietnamese descent. Her father moved to Germany as a guest worker as early as 1988. It was not until 11 years later, in 1999 and when Hazel was five years old, that she and her mother moved to Germany to live with her father. Thus Hazel spent almost her entire childhood and youth already in Germany. After graduating from school with a general qualification for university entrance, she studied business administration. After graduating, she then began working as a tax consultant, which also helped her achieve greater success in her YouTube career.

She founded her YouTube channel “Pocket Hazel” back on November 30, 2011 at the age of 17. However, as of today, Hazel did not release her first video on this channel until February 24, 2015, when she was 21 years old. This first video was titled: “The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask – European Collectors Edition [UNBOXING]”. Already back then to her first video it was obvious that she put a lot of emphasis on the quality of her videos. In the early days of her channel, Hazel primarily posted Let’s Plays and other videos about video games on her channel “Pocket Hazel”. However, over time, the channel’s focus changed and she placed more of her emphasis on lifestyle and entertainment videos.
Hazel didn’t see the biggest rise in her own profile and channel until she posted a reaction video on her channel to “Julien Bam’s” video in which he talked about his tax expenses. This video was posted on September 25, 2017 and was titled: “Tax Counsel Reacts to Julien Bam’s Revenue/Finance.” The profession of a tax consultant was very beneficial to her, which made her video very credible and thus increase her own popularity.

In addition to this channel, Hazel also produces the channel/format “Pocket Money” together with “funk”, which now has well over 171,000 subscribers.

If you look at the channel “Pocket Hazel” today, you will see that it has now clearly shifted its focus to lifestyle and entertainment videos. Challenges, vlogs and other videos from her more private life are the order of the day. Every week a new video appears on average on the channel “Pocket Hazel”. With these videos, she has now managed to attract well over 385,000 subscribers and inspire them with her regular videos.
