It all started when he published videos about dreadlocks on his first channel "unschwer". Nowadays, a content as well as his channels have changed significantly, but "Ungespielt" is still one of the most successful German YouTubers.

If you talk to some young people about the channels they watch on YouTube, in most cases you can’t get past one particular person. We are talking about the YouTuber and streamer “Unge”, “Unplayed” or “Simon Unge”. At the latest after his legendary longboard tour in 2014, even the last should know him. But who is this “Simon Unge” and how has he changed over the years on YouTube and in private ?

His civil name is “Ungespielt” Simon Wiefels and he was born on August 31st in Erklenz and is therefore already 28 years old. He is a German web video producer, who operated or even runs several other channels besides his main channel. These include the channels “Ungespielt”, “Unge”, “Ungefilmt” and the newest and still active channel “neugelebt”. He became best known for Lets Plays of the open-world game Minecraft. The longboard tour, which started in September 2014, in which he ventured together with his friends and colleagues “Felix von der Laden”, “Julien Bam” as well as “Cheng Loew” on a trip through Germany only with longboards, helped all involved to an enormous expansion of their reach. But why does or did Simon Wiefels have so many different channels? On the one hand, this was because he first wanted to separate his Lets Plays on the channel “Ungespielt” from his vlogs on the channel “Ungefilmt” purely in terms of content. Since the channel “Ungespielt” was tied to the network Mediakraft he has decided by a non-agreement with the network to attack first in the form of a video this and next to open an alternative channel called “Unge” for the transition. However, the contract with the network has since expired, allowing him to reactivate the channel “Unplayed” on 04 August 2015.

However, Simon Wiefels did not start with Lets Plays – quite the opposite. On his first channel “Unschwer” the now 28 year old published videos about dreadlocks.

Simon founded the channel “Ungespielt” on 02 July 2012 and filled this channel with several Lets Plays of Minecraft as well as other games. He also continued this in the break of the channel on the channel “Unge”. He was able to build his notoriety mainly through Minecraft multiplayer project like the “Mega Project” or “Minecraft HERO”. Furthermore Simon started to offer livestreams of different games on the platform Twitch. He lived for some time in Cologne, where he lived together with others in the so-called YouTube house. This had its name because numerous apartments in this house were inhabited by YouTubers. After a few years he moved to Hamburg where he founded the so called “Streaminghaus”. There, together with several other YouTubers and streamers, the 30 Days Livestream was created, in which the stream ran for 30 days at a time. Then in 2018, he decided to emigrate from Germany and eventually moved to the Portuguese island of Madeira with his girlfriend. Not only his lifestyle but also his content has changed significantly. These days, his focus is no longer on Lets Plays but on Reactions. This can be seen daily in a livestream at 8pm on the Unplayed channel. He uploads highlights of it in video form on this channel. There are also still some gaming streams to watch in between on the channel. The channel’s subscriber count is not publicly available, but is likely well over 2 million subscribers.

On the newly founded channel “neugelebt” it is all about the topic of emigration. Although the channel is not too active at the moment, new videos are planned and will follow, according to Simon.
