In the german speaking Lets Play and Gamging scene he is more than well known. His trademarks include a purple top hat and a monocle which can be seen on his YouTube avatar. We’re talking, of course, about the YouTuber and streamer known as “Zombey.” Although some things are already known about “Zombey” there are still unanswered questions like his name, his age or his previous career on YouTube.

Zombey’s real name is Michael Rankl. He was born in Munich on 12 October 1992 and is therefore already 27 years old. He became known as a web video producer who is mainly active in the field of Lets Plays and Gaming.

Alongside him, his partner also runs a YouTube channel called “MissesChessie”. This channel, unlike that of “Zombey”, has had rather moderate success. Further, she has not posted any content on her channel for almost a year now.

“Zombey” himself tries to keep all private details as covered as possible and reveal as little of himself as possible .

Furthermore Rankl is considered as a so called “Urgestein” on YouTube which is due to his already very long activity. The name of his channel comes, according to his own statements, from childhood days.

In fact, he originally ran a completely different channel. This one had the name “z0mb3yz0ckt”, but since this name was so difficult to remember he discontinued it. The channel “Zombey” already existed and was originally founded on 28 February 2006. Michael Rankl finally took it over and released his first own video on it on October 14, 2011. “Zombey”‘s first video of his own on the channel was titled: “Let’s Adventure YOUR Minecraft #22 [B] LetltCraft – The Slayer”. This video contained a Lets Play of the RPG game Minecraft. Since the takeover of the channel “Zombey” in 2011, the channel “z0mb3yz0ckt” is also inactive.

If you take a look at the channel “Zombey” you will see that it has been delivering daily content for years. Among them are a lot of child-friendly content, such as priority videos of the RPG sandbox game Minecraft. Among them are then especially often videos with close friends and colleagues of him of the so-called “Freedom Squad”. Part of this team are besides “Zombey” also “Paluten”, “GermanLetsPlay” and “Maudado”. Together, they publish content from the game “GTA V” or other games in addition to several Minecraft videos. At the same time, they always try to remain as child-friendly as possible in their content.

Furthermore, the channel “Zombey” is part of the network “gronkh.de” since 2012.

If you take a look at “Zombey’s” channel today, you’ll notice that in addition to the daily and often kid-friendly content, he’s already collected over 1.7 million subscribers on his channel.
