If you take a look around YouTube, you will quickly realize that most YouTubers and Influencers tend to be male. At least that’s how it appears at first glance. If you then look a little more intensively behind the facade and search a little more meticulously, you will also find quite a few female YouTubers, although most of them would then again fall into the category of beauty and fashion. However, there are also some female creators who do not let themselves be pushed into this category and simply do what they feel like doing and what they enjoy. One of those female YouTubers is “Melina Sophie.” She is living her dream Serviceh in real life and on social media. But who is actually behind “Melina Sophie”, how did her career start and what does she do today besides social media ?

Her real name is Melina Sophie Baumann and she was born on September 13, 1995. Thus, she is already 24 years old and still quite a young Influencer in contrast to some of her colleagues. She apparently simply derived her channel name “Melina Sophie” from her civil name. This is also the first point which is most similar to their content. Similar to her channel name, “Melina Sophie” doesn’t pretend to be herself in her videos either, but is completely herself and above all makes the content she deems most important. In her youth “Melina Sophie” visited a grammar school in her hometown Minden. However, she did not leave this with the general higher education entrance qualification but prematurely with the intermediate school leaving certificate. Nothing is known about the further education of the now 24 year old.

She started her social media career in 2013. On 29 October 2013, she founded her current main channel “Melina Sophie” which she founded at that time under the name “LifeWithMelina”. It was also known by this name at the time. Decisive for the increase of her fame was the YouTuber “Liont” who gave her a lot of attention and helped her to get a considerable number of viewers. Among other things, she was able to make some contacts in the YouTube scene at the time and build friendships. In 2014, she moved into a shared apartment in Cologne with YouTuber and singer “Shirin David”. However, the flat share dissolved again after a short time.

Melina made it further in 20115 by her video with the title: “COMING OUT | Melina Sophie” for great sensation. In this video, she publicly admitted her homosexuality for the first time. Furthermore, “Melina Sophie decided to move to Iceland for a short time in 2016. In the meantime, she has her own house in the country and lives there with a permanent residence. In 2018, she took a seven-month YouTube break. In the meantime, however, she has been more or less actively doing YouTube again on her main channel since May 18, 2019. In addition to this, she actively operated her second channel with the name “DailyWithMelina” until three years ago. However, she has been uploading all of her videos and content to her main channel for the past three years. If you take a look at the channel today, you will see that she already has a very large fan base there. Over 1.8 million people have subscribed to their channel so far and regularly follow their new content. These are diversified and serve almost all genres.
