In the German YouTube scene, there have been channels in recent years that describe themselves as “news channels” and occasionally reported on the events around the German YouTube scene. So does the channel “HerrNewstime” for some time now and is even very successful with it. He even managed to establish a kind of monopoly with his channel, thus unconsciously all but eliminating his competitors from the market. Thus, the channel “MrNewstime” was able to build up a very high profile in recent years and use this very well for themselves. Nevertheless, only a few of his viewers might know more about the person behind the channel or its beginnings.

The real name of the operator of the channel “HerrNewstime” is Thomas Hackner. Hackner was born on 12 March 1990 in Gelsenkirchen and is therefore already 30 years old. Today he still lives in North Rhine-Westphalia, but in which city exactly is not publicly known. Hackner originally wanted to study law after his school career. However, over time his plans changed and he eventually studied practical computer science. Furthermore, Thomas worked briefly for “PlayMASSIVE GmbH” as a game editor in 2014 and already gained some experience as a game editor there. He is also an official member of the Federal Association of Professional Journalists and is thus clearly considered a journalist in professional terms.

On his channel “HerrNewstime” the 30 year old publishes mainly a kind of news format. His news, or colloquially known as “news”, is mainly focused on the German YouTube scene and what’s going on there. With this channel, Hackner succeeds in combining his actual profession of journalism with his hobby, YouTube videos.

Thomas Hackner founded his channel “HerrNewstime” on 11 May 2014. Already at that time it was clear to him in which direction his videos should develop and how they should look like, as already his first video showed. This he already published on May 25, 2014 and it was titled: “SELTSAME FACEBOOK POSTS? | Do DieLochis still have control over their accounts? This video already dealt with the social media activities of well-known German YouTubers and thus gave a clear outlook on what kind of videos he will publish on his channel.

On the channel “HerrNewstime” mainly two different formats appear. This includes the format “YouTube News”, which is the main format on the channel and deals with the current events in the German YouTube scene and the actors moving in it. On the other hand, there is still the format “Interviews”, which appears more irregularly and contains interviews with various people on current topics.

Furthermore, he also operates a second channel with the name “Thomas Hackner”. This channel already has 14,500 subscribers and has been operated by him since March 14, 2015. Mainly vlogs from his life or current events appear on this channel as well as several reaction videos on various political or current YouTube topics.

New and above all current videos appear regularly on the main channel “HerrNewstime”. These are always highly topical and usually appear on the same day as the actual events take place. Depending on what and especially how much is happening, it also happens that Hackner publishes several videos a day on the channel “HerrNewstime”.

With his videos he even managed to replace the already very well known and in the scene very popular channel “MrTrashpack” or to push him off his throne.
